A New Take on News
PCWorld.com's News section has long been one of the Web's most trusted sources of information about technology, and that's a tradition we're continuing in our newly redesigned site--but with a few differences we hope you'll enjoy.
More original stories. Our News department is working hard at producing original stories you'll see nowhere else. Our goal is to bring you news that will help you make informed decisions about technology, news that is useful to you in both your business life and your personal life. We will continue to carry the best of the wire service reports, but our primary focus is to present you with unbiased news coverage produced by a great team of technology journalists.
Investigative reports. You may have already noticed our recent series on Intel's difficulties, our special report on Fountain Technologies' bankruptcy, or our story on Transmeta's disappointing notebook CPU. PCWorld.com will continue to aggressively pursue stories about the industry and its players, no matter who they are. Look for much more in the next several months.
Easier access to recent news stories. We know your time is both short and valuable. You may not be able to visit us every day. We've made it easy for you to catch up, with our "Week in News" page, which allows for quick browsing of our most recent postings. Want to go back further? Try PCWorld.com's much improved search tool.
Our Front Page
Click on the News tab on any page of the site, and you'll be taken to our index page. There you'll find the most recent news stories of the day, topped by original stories authored by our own staff reporters and some of the top freelance writers in the business.
Scroll down, and you'll find many other technology stories that we think are both interesting and useful.
In our News Highlights section, you'll find stories that we believe add some perspective and insight to issues and trends in the world of technology.
We're very proud of the renovations to our part of the PCWorld.com Web site, but after you're finished admiring them, get down to what really matters: Click on one of our stories and find out all the latest!
