It seems almost cruel doing this to something so minuscule, but the size of the iPod shuffle didn't stop the guys at iFixit from doing what they do best--purchasing an Apple product as soon as it hits the market and exposing its innards to the whole wide world.
Given that the whole thing weighs just a shade over ten grams and, once you get past the anodized aluminum enclosure, is held together by a single screw, it's no surprise that the entire process consisted of barely ten steps and required hardly any effort.
As you'd expect, the parts inside the iPod are tiny too--a small battery, CPU, RAM, the 4GB flash memory chip, some user interface elements, and those little status indicator LEDs. The folks at iFixit also note that its form factor "shares more similarities with the original iPod Shuffle than its immediate predecessor."
