In addition to releasing Drumtracker at the NAMM music show, Toontrack also announced a new expansion pack for users of its EZDrummer virtual drum sampler.

Jazz EZX features samples performed by the legendary drummer Roy "Futureman" Wooten. In addition to being a multiple Grammy award winning composer, Wooten has also been involved in drum sampling for a number of years.

Toontrack said they began working on the project in late 2007 and recorded the samples at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Jazz EZX will be available at the end of January 2009. Pricing was not immediately available, but all of the other expansion packs in the company's library cost US$89.
