Tech Pros Favor Obama

Technology professionals back Obama by more than 2 to 1, new poll finds.

If tech pros could rule the election, they'd vote Barack Obama in by a landslide over John McCain by a whopping 63 percent to 27 percent. So says the tech job site Dice.

Dice held an online poll last week in which 2006 Dice users voted on which candidate they believed would pay more attention to them. Here are the results:

* Barack Obama - 63 percent

* John McCain - 27 percent

* Ralph Nader - 4 percent

* Other (write in) - 6 percent

Notable write-ins include Ron Paul, Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, with Ron Paul getting most of those votes. Oh, and there's one more notable write-in: Joe the Plumber. But he'll have to learn to lay cable rather than pipe if he wants to satisfy IT folks.
