Is RAM Optimization Software Useful?
Jon L. Jacobi
My biggest problem with RAM memory optimization software--no matter who markets it--is simply that you don't need it. The $20 SuperRam implies, though never comes right out and says it, that it will make your computer run faster. While technically this might be true (if you've had your computer on for days on end with programs running that are impolite about returning unused memory), generally speaking the effect is unnoticeable. Just restart your computer. It'll do the same thing.
That said, if you simply must find this out for yourself, SuperRam is easy to use. In my testing, it had minimal negative impact on system performance (any program that runs in the background will utilize some memory and CPU cycles). However, if SuperRam helped performance at all, it was beyond my capability to discern.
